You are being watched! This squid was
photographed after dark and was quickly
burying itself in the gravel. They accomplish this task by puffing up
their body,
reversing the process to move deeper into the gravel and using two of their
eight
arms, reaching out picking up gravel and placing it on top of their body.
If you
look closely, just forward of the eyes, you can see a pair of arms reaching out
for gravel. It's also apparent some gravel has already been placed on top.
