Below are three pictures, one of a new Deep Sand Bed (DSB), the next of a working DSB, using pure Southdown
Aragonite sand activated with fifty pounds of live sand from the Caribbean.  The third picture is after 1 1/2 years.
The nitrogen cycle, turning poisonous Ammonia to poisonous nitrite to less poisonous nitrate to harmless
nitrogen gas, is accomplished in the DSB.  For a comprehensive article on the what, why, and how
